About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tendering Engineer with a solid background in engineering design to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals for building and infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in bridging design and tendering functions, ensuring accurate cost estimation, compliance with client requirements, and alignment with project specifications. Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Analyze tender documents (RFPs, RFQs, ITTs) to understand project scope, technical requirements, and commercial conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for buildings and infrastructure design projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams (architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical) to gather inputs for tender submissions.
- Develop detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing strategies based on project requirements and market conditions.
- Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure completeness and accuracy in tender submissions.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the tendering phase.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers for clarifications and technical discussions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Support contract negotiations and handover to project execution teams upon award.
- Maintain a database of cost benchmarks, suppliers, and historical tender data for future reference.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience, with a strong background in engineering design (Buildings & Infrastructure) and proven experience in tendering/proposals.
- Solid understanding of design processes, drawings, specifications, and project lifecycle.
- Experience in preparing tenders for large-scale projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, infrastructure, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, BOQs, and pricing methodologies.
- Familiarity with international standards and regional regulations (e.g., IEC, BS, ACI, local authority requirements).
- Proficiency in engineering and estimation software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, CostX, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight submission deadlines.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
Knowledge and Functional Competencies:
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, contract conditions (FIDIC is a plus), and procurement strategies.
- Expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously with high efficiency.
