Specific Responsibilities

  • Serve as the field-based operational leader for the Tarek area in a 14/14 rotational, field-based assignment requiring full-time on-site leadership during rotation.
  • Provide overall production engineering oversight for Tarek Area including the Tarek Gas Plant (TGP), associated RPF facilities, gas wells, oil wells, and field gathering systems. The Tarek Area forms a key part of the Central Area.
  • Ensure full alignment with Apache corporate and functional objectives by prioritizing safe operations, delivering production targets, and maintaining strict fiscal discipline.
  • Lead troubleshooting of plant, compression, and gathering system downtime; identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions across Maintenance, Asset Integrity, and Projects.
  • Monitor and optimize facility throughput, compression efficiency, and gathering system performance; identify debottlenecking opportunities to increase gas and condensate production.
  • Provide direct oversight of contractor-operated RPFs, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, performance standards and EH&S requirements.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the gas plant and associated facilities by enforcing adherence to KPC policies and procedures; hold all KPC staff and contractors accountable for compliance with EH&S standards, Permit to Work requirements, preventive maintenance programs, and Management of Change processes.
  • Act as the technical authority at Tarek, operating with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision.
  • Mentor, guide, and develop KPC production and operations staff, ensuring proper stewardship of KPC-owned assets within contractor-operated facilities.
  • Support capital projects through construction, commissioning, and startup, ensuring operational readiness, and performance alignment.
  • Lead technical input for turnarounds and major maintenance activities, coordinating with Gas Management and relevant stakeholders while maintaining budget awareness.

Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • BS Degree in Engineering Discipline
  • 12-15+ years operations experience all types of oil and gas operations: wells and well behaviours, artificial lift, gathering systems, water flood, oil and gas process systems, rotating equipment, compression, pipelines, safety programs, etc.
  • 5 years experience working in an international JV environment
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic integrated team environment & communicate effectively across disciplines.
  • Role model in Safety Leadership, Operational Excellence, Cost Leadership & Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong communication skills, be a self starter in identifying opportunities, overcoming obstacles and pursuing initiatives through to completion.
  • Proficiency at using the industry standard suite of Microsoft Office applications
