Procurement – Senior Electrical Engineer:

Job Description:

  • Review project specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify required electrical materials and equipment.
  • Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers in line with company standards.
  • Request, analyze, and compare quotations to ensure technical and commercial compliance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effective procurement.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and site teams to align procurement with project timelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative suppliers or materials to optimize cost and delivery.
  • Maintain and update the approved vendor list and monitor supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
  • Track material submittals, approvals, and delivery schedules with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, new products, and innovations in electrical and supply chain fields.
  • Resolve supply issues, shortages, and vendor-related disputes efficiently.
  • Prepare and present regular procurement and supply chain status reports.
  • Analyze resource utilization (labor, equipment, logistics) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective supply chain solutions and process improvements.
  • Lead and support projects related to logistics, transportation, warehousing, and inventory optimization.
  • Use data analysis, forecasting, and modeling to reduce costs and supply risks.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Procurement Engineer in substation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and suppliers in the regional market.
  • Solid understanding of procurement procedures, contractual terms, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Degree coursework in Supply Chain/Management is preferred.
