Material Control Senior Engineer At ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC “Suez”


Job Title:
Material Control Senior Engineer

Sector: Elsewedy Electric Infrastructure.

Scope: Steel Fabrication

Department: Engineering Dept.

Job Location: Ain Sokhna Plant

Accountabilities:

  1. Documents Review & Planning
  • Review approved drawings, BOQs, and project schedules
  • Support Technical Office in reviewing shop drawings and material-related data.
  1. Material Take-Off & Procurement
  • Prepare material take-offs (MTO) based on drawings and production plans.
  • Check availability in free stock.
  • Prepare PR/MR for material shortages.
  • Review material submittals in line with technical specifications.
  1. Procurement Follow-up
  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and required certificates (MTC, compliance, etc.).
  1. Material Receiving & Inspection
  • Verify received materials against PO (quantity, specifications, heat numbers).
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and approvals.
  • Raise NCRs for any non-conformance.
  1. Identification & Traceability
  • Ensure proper tagging and identification of materials.
  • Maintain full traceability records (heat numbers, certificates, etc.).
  1. Storage & Inventory Control
  • Ensure proper storage and segregation of materials:
  • Grade
  • Size
  • Project
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Perform periodic stock checks and reconciliation.
  1. Material Control
  • Issue materials to fabrication/production based on approved requests.
  • Monitor material consumption against MTO.
  • Control wastage, over-issuance, and losses.
  1. Scrap & Returns Management
  • Record and monitor scrap materials.
  • Ensure return of usable materials back to stock.
  • Optimize material utilization.
  1. Coordination
  • Procurement
  • Warehouse
  • Production
  • Planning
  • QA/QC
  • Ensure smooth material flow and avoid shortages or overstocking.
  1. Reporting
  • Prepare periodic reports:
  • Material status reports
  • Inventory reports
  • Consumption & variance reports
  • Scrap reports
  • Analyze material usage trends and recommend improvements.
  1. Dispatch & Project Close-Out
  • Coordinate material dispatch activities.
  • Ensure final material reconciliation at project close-out.

Reporting Line: Engineering Manager

Job Requirements:

Education Background:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil).

  • Language: Fluent English.

Gender

  • Male

Skills:

Computer Skills: Microsoft office.

Technical competencies:

  • Strong experience in engineering and steel fabrication design (Pipelines, Crossings, Valve chamber, etc..).
  • Strong knowledge and ability to use engineering software to support site activities
  • Project-oriented mindset
  • Availability to accept assignments on-site

Experience:

  • Related Field Experience: 3 to 5 years.
