Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Import Specialist based in Cairo, Egypt. The Import Specialist will manage import processes, coordinate with international suppliers and shipping companies, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and prepare required documentation. The role also includes liaising with customs authorities, troubleshooting issues related to shipments, keeping accurate records, and communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import operations for FMCG products.
- Coordinate with international suppliers regarding shipping schedules, documentation, and payments.
- Prepare and review import documents
- Follow up on customs clearance procedures and ensure compliance with Egyptian import regulations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to warehouses.
- Handle HS codes, duties, taxes, and customs-related requirements.
- Resolve shipment delays, clearance issues, and documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate import records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 1–2+ years of experience in import operations.
- Strong experience with customs clearance procedures.
- Previous experience in FMCG industry is a must.
- Good knowledge of shipping, freight, and international trade procedures.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good command of English.
