Al Arabia Cinema produced and distributed a number of iconic Egyptian movies. The company also owns Renaissance Cinemas, operating screens in various locations around Cairo, Alexandria, Benha and lately Zagazig.
Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement function across the cinema business, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality sourcing of products, services, equipment, and operational supplies required across all cinema locations.
The role will develop strong supplier relationships, negotiate competitive terms, ensure procurement compliance, and work closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT, F&B, and other departments to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
– Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the cinema’s operational and financial objectives.
– Source and evaluate suppliers for cinema-related products, services, equipment, and consumables.
– Obtain and analyze quotations, conduct competitive bidding, and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
– Ensure timely purchasing and delivery to all cinema branches.
– Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities without compromising quality.
Cinema Operations Procurement
– Manage procurement of cinema operational supplies, including cleaning materials, uniforms, stationery, guest supplies, packaging, and other consumables.
– Support procurement of F&B supplies, including food packaging, concession items, ingredients, and related equipment.
– Coordinate the sourcing of cinema equipment, furniture, fixtures, signage, POS-related items, and maintenance requirements.
– Support procurement requirements for new cinema openings, renovations, and refurbishments.
Supplier Management
– Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers.
– Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and negotiate favorable contracts and payment terms.
– Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery times, and service levels.
– Resolve supplier disputes, shortages, quality issues, and delivery delays.
– Maintain an updated and approved supplier database.
Cost & Budget Management
– Monitor procurement spending against approved budgets.
– Negotiate volume discounts, annual agreements, and long-term contracts where applicable.
– Conduct regular market and price comparisons to ensure competitive purchasing.
– Prepare procurement reports highlighting spending, savings, supplier performance, and key issues.
Inventory & Supply Coordination
– Work closely with Operations and F&B teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
– Monitor consumption and purchasing trends to minimize shortages, overstocking, and wastage.
– Coordinate with warehouse and branch teams to ensure efficient distribution of supplies.
Policies & Compliance
– Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and approval processes.
– Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, budgets, and authorization limits.
– Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contracts, quotations, and purchase orders.
– Work closely with Finance to ensure proper invoice matching and payment processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Work closely with Cinema Operations, F&B, Finance, Marketing, IT, HR, and Maintenance teams.
– Understand department requirements and translate them into effective procurement plans.
– Support Marketing and Operations with procurement for promotional campaigns, events, launches, and cinema activations.
– Participate in new cinema opening and project planning to ensure all procurement requirements are delivered on schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
– 5–8 years of procurement experience, preferably within hospitality, F&B, retail, entertainment, or multi-site operations.
– Experience managing multiple suppliers and locations.
– Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
– Good understanding of local and international sourcing.
– Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and procurement/ERP systems.
