Role Purpose
The Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for construction projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services in line with project requirements, budget, and quality standards. The role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and supplier management expertise Key Accountabilities
- Manage procurement activities for assigned construction projects from planning to delivery
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to identify procurement requirements
- Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs to suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate technical and commercial offers in coordination with engineering and project teams
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions with vendors
- Issue purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and project specifications
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and material quality
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply issues
- Maintain approved vendor lists and develop new supplier relationships
- Track procurement budgets and support cost control initiatives
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and safety requirements
- Prepare procurement reports and updates for management
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
- 6–8 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontracting processes
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneousl
