The HV & EHV Substation Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering high-voltage and extra high-voltage substation projects from initiation to completion. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications and international standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full lifecycle of HV/EHV substation projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate with internal departments (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, subcontractors)
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Lead site activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
- Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and method statements
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare progress reports and present updates to senior management and clients
- Oversee procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations
- Manage testing and commissioning activities for substations
- Handle contract management, claims, and variations
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- PMP certification is a strong advantage
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in power projects, with at least 5 years in HV/EHV substations
- Proven experience in managing large-scale substation projects
