Job Overview

We are seeking an operational Logistics Specialist to manage day-to-day shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and warehouse loading schedules for our food and beverage product lines. The ideal candidate will ensure that cargo is moved efficiently, cost-effectively, and under strict temperature control to preserve product quality from warehouse to final destination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Freight & Transport Coordination:
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, trucking companies, and freight forwarders to secure reefer containers and competitive ocean/land freight rates.
  • Monitor container loading schedules and track shipments from dispatch through port departure to final delivery.
  • Manage reefer set-points (temperature/ventilation) and monitor cold-chain compliance to prevent cargo loss or damage.
  • Customs & Documentation:
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to open certificates, resolve inspection holds, and clear import/export shipments promptly.
  • Prepare and double-check shipping documentation: Bills of Lading (B/L), Certificates of Origin, Packing Lists, Phytosanitary, and Health Certificates.
  • Review and verify freight invoices, detention charges, and port fees prior to submitting them to finance.
  • Warehouse & Port Operations:
  • Align with factory and warehouse teams on production schedules to order containers at optimal times and avoid port demurrage.
  • Manage shipping schedules to avoid warehouse congestion and maintain smooth intake/dispatch flows.
  • Handle carrier claims and resolve operational disputes regarding damaged cargo or transport delays.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or export operations within the Food & Beverage, Agricultural, or FMCG sectors.
  • Knowledge: Hands-on experience with *reefer container management, port procedures, customs clearance processes, and *Incoterms 2020.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and quick problem-solving under tight shipping deadlines.
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Odoo) is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
