Local Purchasing Specialist At Elixir Pharma
is looking for a local Purchasing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing local procurement activities, supplier sourcing, market visits, negotiations, and ensuring timely purchasing of materials and services with the best quality and cost efficiency.
Work Location: Sheraton, Cairo
The key responsibilities of the job would be:
-Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with local suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
-Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
-Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements.
-Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
-Ensure all procured products meet the required quality standards and regulatory compliance.
-Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process.
-Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
-Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
What we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
-Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related pharmaceutical field is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
-Strong negotiation and communication skills.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
-Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
-In-depth knowledge of local pharmaceutical suppliers and market conditions.
-Strong organizational and time management skills.
