About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Section Chief – Sourcing to ensure the timely availability of Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, and Consumable Chemicals through both local and international procurement channels. The ideal candidate will manage sourcing activities, coordinate with global teams, and secure the best quality materials at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Procurement

– Source raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables at competitive prices.
– Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing, evaluate quotations, and justify price variations.
– Prepare and manage purchase contracts, purchase orders, and procurement schedules through ERP systems.
– Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Imports & International Coordination

– Coordinate with international sourcing teams for imported materials planning and scheduling.
– Handle end-to-end import documentation and customs clearance activities.
– Liaise with CHA and logistics partners to ensure timely shipment clearance.
– Ensure compliance with GAFI regulations and all import-related requirements.

Logistics & Vendor Management

– Arrange transportation for locally sourced materials and coordinate insurance claims when required.
– Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
– Manage supplier performance and resolve vendor-related issues.

Skills & Knowledge Required

– Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
– Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including Production, QA, and Stores.
– Understanding of commercial and statutory requirements, especially GAFI regulations.
– Inventory management, costing, and budgeting knowledge.
– Strong documentation and ERP system experience.
– Basic understanding of chemistry and raw material specifications.
– Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
– 4–6 years of purchasing/procurement experience within the manufacturing industry.
– Must have hands-on experience in raw material purchasing, particularly with foreign suppliers and imported materials.
– Experience in handling international sourcing, import procedures, and supplier negotiations is highly preferred.
