This smart warehouse is about 20,000m2 with 100 automated guided vehicles (AGVs) also they have a fully automated bonded warehouse in Xiasha, China.
The automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are expected to improve storage accuracy and warehouse pickup efficiency which will reflect on reducing the distance employees have to travel by 90% so there will be a reduction in management costs .Due to an increase in efficiency the consumer expectations during shopping festivals will increase so the demand will rise up to 10 times its usual in volume.
The smart warehouse solution enables businesses to increase logistics efficiencies, streamline processes and overcome manpower shortages and mitigate the supply chain disruptions induced by the Covid-19 pandemic which are expected to last through 2022.
Smart warehousing market size is expected to almost double, growing up from US$14.8bn in 2021 and expected to reach US$25.4bn by 2026. Cainiao has also established a fully automated bonded warehouse in Xiasha, China. it adopts a fully automated parcel sorting model and can store up to 30,000 parcels. The automated facility uses an algorithm to schedule warehouse pickups and facilitate manual parcel sorting. There, the feed boxes carrying goods will be automatically moved to the sorting area in response to real-time orders, resulting in a 50% improvement in productivity. The Xiasha warehouse processed a third of all parcels designated for Hangzhou’s bonded warehouses
