Local Purchasing Specialist

We are hiring a Local Purchasing Specialist to join a leading Food & Beverage importing and distribution company based in Abu Rawash, 6th of October City, Egypt.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the local purchasing cycle from purchase requests, supplier selection, negotiation, PO issuance, and delivery follow-up.
Obtain and compare supplier quotations to achieve the best combination of price, quality, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
Negotiate prices, discounts, payment terms, and lead times with suppliers.
Follow up on open Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery.
Monitor supplier performance including pricing, quality, lead time, and reliability.
Develop strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers.
Coordinate with Warehouse, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and other departments to ensure purchasing requirements are fulfilled.
Handle urgent purchasing needs while maintaining cost and quality standards.
Review supplier invoices against approved POs, quantities, and agreed prices.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, quotations, POs, and delivery documents.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market price changes.
Prepare purchasing reports covering Purchase Value, Cost Savings, Supplier Performance, Pending POs, Delayed Deliveries, and Price Variances.
Work closely with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability and avoid unnecessary inventory.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in Local Purchasing in Food & Beverage, FMCG, importing, or distribution.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Good understanding of:

Purchase Orders
Lead Time Management
Cost Management
Supplier Evaluation
Very good Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple purchasing requirements.
