Planning Manager

Job Description

  • Prepare annual, seasonal, and monthly merchandise financial plans based on sales forecasts, market trends, and business objectives.
  • Forecast product demand by analyzing historical sales, customer behavior, and fashion trends.
  • Determine optimal inventory levels across product categories, brands, and store locations.
  • Develop merchandise allocation plans to maximize product availability and sales performance.
  • Monitor sales performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate replenishment activities with supply chain and distribution teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Analyze product performance by category, SKU, brand, size, color, and season to support assortment and profitability decisions.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and suppliers to establish production schedules and ensure timely product launches.
  • Recommend markdown and pricing strategies to optimize inventory turnover and protect profit margins.
  • Track key merchandising KPIs, including sell-through, stock turn, GMROI, weeks of supply, inventory availability, and forecast accuracy.
  • Prepare planning reports and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • MBA or a relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail merchandise planning, including at least 2 years in a managerial or senior analytical role within the fashion or apparel industry.
  • Strong analytical, financial planning, and inventory management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
