Data Center Procurement Engineer At Huawei

  • Responsibilities

1. Responsible for data center supplier sourcing, qualification, selection, performance evaluation, development and so on;

2. Support the business development teams in terms of market bidding and delivery guarantee and take responsibility for the indicators of delivery, response, resource guarantee, and cost;

3. Collect and analyze market information, grasp the market quotations of product categories and the trends of market supply and price, develop the actions plans for projects, reduce Huawei’s comprehensive procurement costs;

4. Business travel to support project in different countries.

  • Experience:

1. Category/Technical knowledge: a. Be familiar with and have a solid grasp of procurement processes (such as supplier qualification, component qualification, and supplier selection) and IT system knowledge. 2. Be familiar with relevant business processes (such as IPD, SOP, LTC, and IPD-S) and a main participant in procurement process development.

b. data center domain: at least 3 years data center project experience, familiar with data center delivery process, cost control, supplier management; knowledge for data center service, construction, decoration, equipment installation, data center materials, diesel generator, panels, steel structure, etc…

2. Commercial knowledge: Have a solid grasp of commercial basics, including but not limited to international trade, contract T&Cs, compliance, and business etiquette. 2. Have knowledge of basic laws and regulations, basic tax rules, and basic contract laws and regulations on trade between countries or trading entities;

3. Financial knowledge: Have a solid grasp of financial basics; be able to analyze financial reports in depth and apply the knowledge to many aspects (negotiation, risk analysis, and trend judgment); Be familiar with the basics of cost accounting

  • Soft Skills

1. Commercial negotiation capability: Have a solid grasp of negotiation skills and methods/approaches; take the lead in developing negotiation strategies for key categories/projects, organize negotiation, and make great contributions to the negotiation of key projects.

2. Risk identification and management capabilities: Have high risk awareness; be able to identify risks (in quality, delivery, market changes, reorganization or consolidation, business continuity, etc.) related to important categories/projects; develop and implement risk mitigation measures; and no major delivery or quality issues in the materials/projects in your charge have occurred within three years.

3. Communication and influence: A. Internal: Be able to promote the resolution and implementation of important issues. B. External: Receive high level of trust and strong support from suppliers’ executives. Promptly obtain the latest industry news and valuable information through communication with industry experts.
