Purchasing Engineer At ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC


Key Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requisitions and evaluate technical requirements in collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Quality departments.
  • Translate engineering and production needs into precise technical specifications for suppliers.
  • Assess and validate supplier quotations, ensuring conformity with drawings, BOQs, standards, and required specifications.
  • Conduct technical and commercial bid analysis and recommend optimal supplier selection.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify local suppliers based on capability, quality, capacity, and compliance with standards.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on technical and commercial terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
  • Support supplier audits and technical assessments in collaboration with Quality and Engineering.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Issue and follow up on purchase orders in ERP, ensuring accuracy in terms of specifications, delivery dates, and commercial conditions.
  • Track order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, non-conformities, or technical discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Finance to validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Planning to align purchasing activities with production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse for timely material receipt and inspection.
  • Partner with Quality and Technical departments to ensure purchased items meet required standards.
  • Support in developing sourcing strategies and cost optimization initiatives.

Qualification & Education:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field.
  • Years of Experience: 1–3 years of experience in local purchasing, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.

Technical competencies:

  • Strong understanding of engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of local supplier market, materials, and industrial components.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement processes.
  • Analytical skills for cost analysis, bid comparison, and supplier evaluation.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements.
