Job Purpose:
The Freight Manager oversees and manages all freight operations, including import and export shipments (air, sea, and land). This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods while maintaining high service quality and meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day freight operations for air, sea, and land shipments (import and export).
Plan, organize, and coordinate freight forwarding activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Negotiate rates and service agreements with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and agents.
Supervise and support freight staff to ensure operational accuracy, documentation compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and proactively communicate with clients and partners.
Ensure compliance with customs, port authority, and trade regulations.
Coordinate with the customs clearance, transport, and billing departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Review and approve freight quotations, invoices, and supplier payments.
Maintain and develop relationships with carriers, agents, and key customers.
Analyze freight performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement process improvements.
Prepare periodic operational and financial reports related to freight performance.
Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained across operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5–7 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation management.
Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS, international shipping documentation, customs processes, and trade compliance.
Proven experience in negotiating with carriers and managing freight contracts.
Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (ERP/TMS).
Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
