Job Responsibilities
· Review and submit customs declarations, ensuring all declared information is accurate and consistent with supporting documents.
· Handle HS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, and applicable duties/taxes, with proper supporting references maintained.
· Review and pre-check commercial documents, including Invoice, Packing List, COO, AWB/BL, and relevant permits or licenses.
· Manage ACI/ACID and NAFEZA processes, including information verification, document uploading, and status follow-up.
· Handle customs inspection, valuation issues, document supplementation, declaration amendments, disputes, and shipment release.
· Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or high-risk declarations and provide appropriate solutions or escalate them in a timely manner.
· Review customs declaration data and supporting documents prepared by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
· Maintain case records, HS classification references, and risk lists, and provide guidance and training to junior team members.
· Prepare and maintain standardized information on product descriptions, specifications, quantities, values, country of origin, and proposed HS codes.
· Prepare missing-document lists and follow up with customers to ensure all required documents are completed before the cut-off time.
· Maintain accurate electronic records, document versions, customer information, customs declarations, and shipment release documents.
Requirements
· 5+ years of customs clearance experience in Egypt, preferably in B2B import clearance, with proven experience in at least one of air or sea freight.
· Able to provide relevant customs clearance cases, declaration records, or client/employer references for verification.
· Strong knowledge of product classification, customs valuation, country of origin requirements, duties/taxes, and regulatory documentation.
· Fluent in Arabic and able to work in English, including handling English-language commercial and shipping documents.
· Familiar with commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, AWB/BL, and common import permits and supporting documents.
· Detail-oriented and able to identify inconsistencies in quantities, values, currencies, weights, product descriptions, and consignee/shipper information.
Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
· Hold a valid personal customs clearance license/professional authorization applicable to third-party B2B customs clearance, subject to verification of the original document, license number, validity, applicable ports, and any restrictions before employment.
· Proficient in NAFEZA, ACI/ACID procedures, and relevant customs declaration systems, including electronic document submission and tracking.
· Able to operate electronic signature and authorized customs accounts. Accounts, credentials, and electronic signatures must not be shared or transferred to others.
· Proficient in Excel, PDF, electronic filing, and document version control.
· Able to independently handle standard customs data entry and documentation, while exercising appropriate judgment and escalation for high-risk HS classification, valuation, country-of-origin, or regulatory matters.
