Job Summary
Manage contract administration, commercial compliance, and risk management for major projects. This role ensures contracts are properly managed, variations and claims are handled effectively, and internal processes are aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contract administration for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms and industry standards (FIDIC 1999/2017).
- Review, draft, and issue contractual correspondence on behalf of the Consultant/Employer.
- Manage variations and claims from identification to negotiation and settlement.
- Participate in commercial and contractual meetings with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Prepare risk registers, commercial reports, and dashboards for management.
- Review sub-consultancy or JV agreements, aligning scopes, liabilities, and obligations.
- Support dispute resolution processes and prepare position papers.
- Mentor junior staff and improve internal contract templates and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
- Preferred: Postgraduate diplomas or certifications in FIDIC, Claims, Contract Management, CICCM, CCCE, CLAC, or Arbitration.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in contract management, claims, procurement, or commercial roles.
- Strong experience with FIDIC contracts, government contracts, consultancy, and EPC projects.
- Experience with mega projects or infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Full understanding of contract formation, administration, variations, claims, EOT, risk management, and procurement.
- Experience preparing and defending claims (EOT, disruption, cost).
- Ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and sub-consultants.
- Familiarity with change control procedures and dispute avoidance strategies.
- High proficiency in Excel (dashboards), Word (legal drafting), PowerPoint (presentations), and ERP platforms.
