Logistics Specialist At Harvest Foods Egypt

Department: Supply Chain/ Logistics
Reports To: Logistics Manager

Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of finished goods from manufacturing plants and central warehouses to regional distribution centers (DCs) and authorized distributors. The role ensures products are delivered safely, on time, in full, and at optimal cost while maintaining compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Planning & Execution
-Plan and schedule primary transportation shipments from manufacturing sites and central warehouses.
-Allocate shipments to approved transportation providers based on capacity, cost, service level, and route optimization.
-Ensure timely dispatch of products according to delivery schedules and customer requirements.
-Monitor shipment progress from origin to destination and proactively manage transportation exceptions.

Order Fulfillment
-Coordinate with production planning and warehouse teams to ensure shipment readiness.
-Verify shipping documentation, loading schedules, and transportation requirements.
-Ensure deliveries are completed On Time In Full (OTIF).

Carrier Management
-Coordinate daily operations with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and transport carriers.
-Monitor carrier performance against agreed service levels.
-Escalate service failures and support corrective actions to improve transportation performance.

Inventory & Distribution Coordination
-Coordinate replenishment of secondary distribution centers and distributors based on demand plans.
-Support inventory balancing across the distribution network.
-Minimize stock shortages and excess inventory through effective transportation planning.

Cost Control
-Optimize truck utilization, route planning, and shipment consolidation.
-Monitor transportation costs against budget.
-Identify opportunities for logistics cost reduction while maintaining service levels.

Performance Reporting
-Maintain accurate transportation records and shipment documentation.
-Prepare logistics performance reports and dashboards.
-Analyze transportation trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or any related field.

• 3 years of experience in logistics and transportation.
• Good Command of English and Microsoft office (Excel and Power point)
• Oracle and power BI is an advantage.
