TMT Welcomes CMA CGM’s 400th Vessel MV CMA CGM Monte Cristo

Shipping Arabia, March 22, 2026 – Trans Misr Terminal (TMT) has received the MV CMA CGM Monte Cristo, marking a notable milestone as the 400th owned vessel in the fleet of CMA CGM Group and reinforcing ongoing developments in sustainable maritime transport.

The vessel, delivered in January 2026, is powered by methanol and features a capacity exceeding 16,000 TEUs, positioning it among the new generation of environmentally focused container ships entering global trade lanes. Its arrival at TMT represents its maiden voyage on the BEX2 – Phoenician Express service, a weekly route connecting key regional ports.

This call highlights TMT’s role in accommodating advanced vessel classes and supporting evolving operational and environmental standards within the container shipping sector. The inclusion of methanol-powered vessels reflects broader industry efforts to reduce emissions and transition toward alternative fuels.

During its inaugural call at the terminal, TMT handled two breakbulk shipments comprising five units, demonstrating operational flexibility alongside container handling capabilities. The successful operation underscores the terminal’s readiness to manage diverse cargo types while maintaining efficiency.

The milestone call further strengthens collaboration between terminal operators and global carriers, aligning with shared objectives to enhance operational performance and sustainability across maritime logistics networks.
