Dubai Ports, Customs Authority Meets Global Shipping Leaders to Strengthen Supply Chain Resilience
Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation held a high-level coordination meeting with global shipping lines and maritime associations to enhance collaboration and ensure the continuity of regional supply chains amid ongoing challenges.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and attended by Abdulla bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Dr. Abdullah Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, and Ahmad Yousef Al Hassan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC.
The session reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to maintaining its position as a resilient global logistics hub capable of ensuring uninterrupted trade flows under all conditions, while supporting the availability of goods in local and international markets.
Al Zeyoudi highlighted that continued investments in logistics infrastructure, supportive regulatory frameworks, and strong public-private partnerships have reinforced the UAE’s standing as a key global trade and logistics center. He emphasized ongoing efforts to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to enhance global supply chain efficiency and support economic growth.
Discussions focused on practical measures to address current disruptions, leveraging the UAE’s integrated and flexible logistics ecosystem to ensure reliability and continuity of supply chains.
Bin Damithan noted that the meeting reflects the strength of collaboration between government and private sector stakeholders, stressing the importance of rapid response and full operational readiness during the current period. He added that the UAE’s advanced logistics network enables adaptation through route diversification, expanded port utilization, and increased reliance on multimodal transport solutions.
The meeting covered several strategic topics, including the current state of supply chains, port readiness, operational continuity, pricing stability, and customer requirements. Participants also reviewed port capacity, integrated logistics solutions, marine support services, and coordination mechanisms among stakeholders, alongside contingency planning and alternative operational scenarios.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to supporting shipping lines and maritime associations by ensuring a safe, efficient operating environment that sustains stable and resilient trade flows at both regional and global levels.
