Job Purpose:

Ensuring an accurate and adequate quantity of spare parts available in the warehouses.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Lead the local inventory teams, ensuring regular 1-2-1’s with all team members to identify development requirements. Provide support and guidance to all inventory team members to ensure consistency of approach and timely execution of all tasks
  • Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy. Ensure the integrity of stock levels data is maintained in Maximo at all times
  • Monitor and maintain max / min levels of all stock levels to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet maintenance demand. Use Maximo to monitor materials status at all times
  • Raise Stock Purchase Requests for all stocks where a replenishment need has been identified (should be through Maximo)
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories
  • Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis (usage / depletion rates) to identify trends in issuance
  • Manage cycle counts of items inventories on a regular basis
  • Monitor delivery schedule of maintenance work order
  • Supervise the receiving of orders (goods-in) and distribution of materials (goods-out) of all materials and ensure all actions are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follow claims when defective receiving, issuing and available stock are discovered
  • Coordinate with other Maintenance and Procurements departments and assist as required
  • Check date-sensitive items for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of items as needed (FIFO)
  • Train other employees ininventory management
  • Establish trusted relationships with maintenance to ensure quality service effective
  • Participate in weekly Safety Walks, and report any accidents, hazards or dangerous / unsafe behavior to the line manager.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma – bachelor’s degree from reputable university
  • Materials handling training and appropriate Health & Safety training

Knowledge:

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
  • A working knowledge of CMMS (preferably Maximo)
  • Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management
  • IT Skills
  • Microsoft Office.

Experience:

At least, 5-7 years’ relevant experience in warehouse & inventory management
