The Tender and Procurement Engineer plays a vital role in overseeing mechanical tender/estimation activities and procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee mechanical tender/estimation activities, ensuring timely, competitive, and high-quality tender submissions.
- Analyze prices and select appropriate categories for inclusion in the tender.
- Manage the procurement process for mechanical components.
- Review and assess contractual and legal tender terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of industry-specific equipment, materials, and suppliers to make informed procurement decisions.
- Prepare material submittals in accordance with project requirements.
- Evaluate new and subcontractors, negotiate purchase agreements, and establish mutually beneficial relationships.
- Procure equipment, materials, and systems that comply with project quality and specification requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and subcontractors within approved budget costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery of equipment and materials, supporting site installation works and adhering to the approved work program.
- Identify potential risks related to tendering and procurement processes and propose effective mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in tendering, estimation, and procurement roles, preferably in mechanical engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical tendering and procurement processes.
