Job Description
- Develops, leads and executes purchasing strategies
- Chooses the suppliers that the company will deal with and maintains the legal interaction with them and masters’ agreements between the suppliers and the company.
- Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Crafts negotiation strategies and closes deals with optimal terms.
- Partners with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation and resolves issues with
contracts and commercial operations. - Forecasts prices and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power and
monitors and forecasts upcoming levels of demand. - Performs cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking and assesses, manages and mitigates risks.
- Proposes improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships
and lower the cost of doing business - Collaborates with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintains those levels throughout the year
- Takes the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses Defines KPIs and monitors performance to ensure goals are met Monitors the budget and partners with business unit leads to build forecast
- Develops and leads supplier management best practices and processes including the optimization
of the end to end lifecycle of engagement management.
