Supply Chain Director At Al Dahra


Role purpose:

The Supply Chain Director will oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations for Al Dahra. This role is critical in ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, farming plans, logistics, and distribution, are optimized to meet the company’s strategic goals. The Supply Chain Director will work closely with other senior leaders to drive efficiency, sustainability, and profitability across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Execution:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.

· Lead long-term planning and forecasting activities to meet production and customer demand while minimizing costs and waste.

· Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve supply chain performance, reduce lead times, and enhance service levels.

2. Procurement & Supplier Management:

· Oversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure the stability and quality of the supply chain.

· Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

3. Farming & Inventory Management:

· Work closely with farming teams to ensure that supply chain activities are synchronized with planting schedules and capacity planning.

· Implement inventory management best practices to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize stockouts.

· Ensure that raw materials and finished products are stored and handled in compliance with quality and safety standards.

4. Logistics & Distribution:

· Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.

· Optimize the distribution network to improve delivery times, reduce transportation costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

· Implement sustainable practices in logistics and transportation to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

5. Risk Management & Compliance:

· Identify and mitigate risks across the supply chain, including supply disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance.

· Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with local, regional, and international regulations, as well as company policies.

· Develop and maintain contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.

6. Team Leadership & Development:

· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

· Provide direction and support to team members, setting clear goals and expectations.

· Promote a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and the sharing of best practices.

7. Technology & Systems Management:

· Leverage technology to enhance supply chain visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.

· Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in supply chain technology to ensure the company remains competitive.

8. Budgeting & Financial Management:

· Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively.

· Monitor supply chain costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service.

· Report on supply chain performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

· Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

· Experience: A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in supply chain, preferable Agri business, Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain operations on a large scale.

· Skills:

o Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

o Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

o Deep knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, procurement, and inventory management.

o Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

o Proficient in supply chain management software and ERP systems.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Work Condition

  • From Sunday to Thursday
  • Friday & Saturday are OFF
  • From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Work location: Korba, Heliopolis. Cairo
