About the job

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for farming supplies, fertilizers, seeds, equipment, and other operational needs.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors to ensure optimal value.
  • Manage inventory levels in coordination with warehouse and operations teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and product availability to anticipate future procurement needs.
  • Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and finance teams to forecast demand and align procurement with seasonal cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and sustainability practices in all purchasing activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or service.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and vendor databases using ERP or procurement software.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve procurement processes and reduce costs without compromising quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the agricultural or farming industry.
  • Strong knowledge of farming operations and agricultural supply markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
