- Develop and execute procurement strategies for farming supplies, fertilizers, seeds, equipment, and other operational needs.
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors to ensure optimal value.
- Manage inventory levels in coordination with warehouse and operations teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and product availability to anticipate future procurement needs.
- Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and finance teams to forecast demand and align procurement with seasonal cycles.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and sustainability practices in all purchasing activities.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or service.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and vendor databases using ERP or procurement software.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve procurement processes and reduce costs without compromising quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the agricultural or farming industry.
- Strong knowledge of farming operations and agricultural supply markets.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
