Senior Project Engineer At Mars

Job Purpose:

The scope of the senior projects engineer position includes leading and coordinating projects with a project teams across the region to deliver the best value for the company’s capital expenditure, professional project implementation according to the site master plans and effective contribution to his/her unit continuous improvement program. The job holder will also be responsible for leading the feasibility studies for introducing new technologies/ products in his/her site.

· Responsible for the CAB budget management

· Strong communication with the Regional Projects Manager and Projects team across MENA

Principal Accountabilities (Describe the important end results you are expected to achieve. Start with the most important. Number each one separately):

• Design & execution of complex investment projects from conceptualization and planning through to implementation, ensuring all Safety and FS standards are well in place
• Properly considering internal/external customers’ requirements during the different phases of the project.
• Selection of equipment, machinery, processes and systems with reference to project business objectives and conformance to technical and safety standards.
• Direct management and assurance of safe installation work in parallel to running production equipment.
• Development and ownership of site engineering standards for the site lines from a process point of view.
• Validate 3rd party specifications, designs and proposals and conduct stage wise inspections during execution.
• Collect best practice manufacturing and engineering information from inside and outside the corporation relevant to the projects being considered
• Execute timely feasibility studies to support the growth plans of the unit
• Conduct or outsource design projects leading to the preparation of project plans
• Partner with commercial in the negotiation with Contract Engineering companies to agree Service, Delivery timelines, Price and Performance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement works of existing processes.
• Maintain an appropriate supplier network inside and outside of MENA and keep up-to-date with industry developments.
• Responsibility for ensuring all required permission and legal documentation for new production equipment is completed prior to commissioning
• Planning, organization and execution of systems and equipment related training for Mars technical and operational associates
• Updating all relevant documentation & drawings as necessary, to include PLC backups, Single Line Diagrams and P&ID
• Budget responsibility for whole or pre-defined elements of approved investment project budgets and taking measures to ensure there are no deviations from the planned budget

Nature & Scope

This role’s focus is excellence in project execution and provide solutions for new product/ processes introductions and efficiency improvements

The unit will look to this role for advice to support its growth activities, as well as support existing infrastructure when required.

The units in the region will expect this role to be a key role to ensure corporate technical standards are adhered to when creating new infrastructure and also to ensure that best practice knowledge from within the corporation is deployed during all project phases.

Education:

• B.Sc. in electrical (electronics) or Mechanical engineering from a reputable institution
• Very good understanding of Industrial project management in an FMCG environment
• MS office & MS project
• 5-7 years of experience preferably in FMCG
• Solid track record in delivering successful industrial projects.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts in a large organization with multiple customers
