Position Overview
EDECS is seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring that we partner with the best suppliers and subcontractors—both locally and internationally—who deliver top-quality products and services at the most competitive prices. You will play a key role in supporting project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Negotiations :
Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible deals while maintaining high quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Quotation Management :
Collect quotations, analyze proposals, and prepare detailed comparison sheets and cost breakdowns to support supplier selection aligned with project needs.
- Procurement Execution :
Implement the procurement plan and ensure timely delivery of project materials and services in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
- Technical Documentation
Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation), including all necessary technical data, drawings, and specifications for suppliers and subcontractors.
- Purchase Requests & Order Issuance
Review service and purchase requests from operations. Suggest alternatives when appropriate or issue purchase orders directly if no objections are raised.
- Supplier Evaluation
Monitor and assess supplier and subcontractor performance based on feedback from project and business units.
- Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and submit supporting documents for the approval of project materials and subcontractor submittals.
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Arch or Industrial Engineering preferred)
- A minimum of 4 years and up to 7 years of experience.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Understanding of Construction Materials and Methods:
Knowledge of materials used in infrastructure and construction projects is essential for evaluating technical offers and ensuring compliance with project specs.
- Procurement Software & ERP Systems:
Familiarity with procurement platforms (such as Oracle, SAP, or other ERP systems) helps manage purchase orders, supplier databases, and inventory control efficiently.
- RFQ and Bid Evaluation Experience:
Ability to prepare technical requests for quotations (RFQs), compare vendor proposals, and assess the technical and financial suitability of suppliers.
