Job Title: Senior International Procurement Specialist

Job Summary
The Senior International Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, additives, machinery, and packaging materials from global markets to support the company’s plastic manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-efficient, high-quality, and timely procurement while complying with international trade regulations, supplier contracts, and company policies. The Senior Specialist leads supplier negotiations, oversees logistics and customs processes, and ensures that global procurement strategies align with the company’s production and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. International Sourcing & Market Research
- Identify and evaluate international suppliers for plastic resins, additives, packaging materials, and machinery.
- Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks for raw materials.
- Develop and maintain a global supplier database to secure reliable and competitive sources.
- Attend international trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to identify new suppliers and technologies.
2. Supplier Management & Negotiation
- Lead negotiations with international suppliers regarding prices, payment terms, Incoterms, delivery schedules, and after-sales services.
- Establish long-term strategic relationships with key international suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, compliance) through KPIs and audits.
- Mitigate supplier risks and ensure business continuity.
3. International Procurement Operations
- Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle: issuing purchase orders, confirming contracts, and following up with suppliers.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and insurance.
- Ensure timely delivery of imported materials to prevent production delays.
- Prepare accurate procurement documentation (contracts, invoices, shipping documents, certificates of origin, etc.).
4. Cost & Budget Control
- Analyze cost structures and identify savings opportunities in international procurement.
- Support the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and payment scheduling.
- Track foreign currency exchange rates and assess impact on purchasing decisions.
- Recommend strategies to reduce total landed cost (TLC).
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to international trade laws, customs regulations, and import/export requirements.
- Verify compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and sustainability requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier dependency, logistics disruptions, or geopolitical issues.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, technical office, and warehouse teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Work closely with the finance team to handle letters of credit (LCs), bank transfers, and international payment methods.
- Support the planning department to align procurement timelines with production schedules.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or International Trade.
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in international procurement within a plastic manufacturing or industrial sector.
