  • Procurement Strategy:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s objectives and budgetary constraints.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a comprehensive supplier database.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
    • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.
    • Continuously assess supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and process optimization.
  • Purchase Order Processing:
    • Receive purchase requests from various departments, review specifications, and determine the appropriate sourcing strategy.
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of order details.
    • Monitor purchase order status, resolve any discrepancies, and expedite deliveries as needed to meet operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the agricultural or farming industry.
  • 4+ years of experience in the purchasing field.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with agricultural products, equipment, and industry-specific regulations is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing procurement transactions.
