Responsibilities

· Negotiate competitive prices with selected suppliers and collect quotations from authorized suppliers, anticipating shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers as a competitive edge during negotiations.

· Ensure that operational costs are within approved expenditure for the department/project.

· Negotiating terms with the company’s suppliers to ensure that there are penalties in place to guarantee the company’s rights in the commercial relationship.

· Utilization of professional relationships and capabilities to reach the best market price and conditions.

· Performs market studies and updates to ensure having the fit-for-purpose database of suppliers and services in the market

· Performs an evaluation of the suppliers database to attain a list of preferred and most qualified potential suppliers

· Perform Fraud and Sanctions checks as well as financial analyses of the suppliers’ viability.

Comply with regulatory and group policies, identifying and reporting breaches to the head of finance.· Assist the business in developing and analyzing the scope of work for any given project.

· Manage the procurement tendering processes within laid down procedures/policy.

· Implement standard procedures, terms and conditions of procurement within the company in accordance with country and group policies and procedures.

· Assist purchasing Committee in the selection of company’s authorized suppliers and in the management of commercial relationships existing between the company and its preferred supplier’s base.·

Implement service level agreements with internal customers.

· Assist in developing and issuing of procurement/supply contracts with the designated service providers and suppliers for the company’s supply requirements

· Monitor achievement of agreed service level agreements with suppliers of the different commodities.

· Monitor achievement of agreed service level agreements with internal customers.

· Respond to queries emanating from suppliers and internal customers.

· Undertake selective negotiations with suppliers and service providers for goods and services.

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in the same position

· Negotiation and influencing skills

· Good commercial knowledge and skills and familiarity with sourcing and vendor management

· Communication skills both verbal and written

· Understanding of market dynamics

· Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analysing and interpreting data

· Solid judgement with ability to make educated decisions
