The Purchasing Manager at Grand Style Egypt is a critical leadership role responsible for building and executing the sourcing and procurement strategy that ensures the consistent supply of premium raw materials (Egyptian cotton fabrics, yarns, dyes, threads, accessories) and finished home textile products (bed linens, towels, curtains, etc.) while reinforcing the brand’s position as the leading premium Egyptian cotton home textile brand in Egypt and the MENA region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Brand Alignment
- Deeply understand and embed Grand Style Egypt’s brand DNA and target customer profile into every sourcing and procurement decision.
- Develop and lead the long-term sourcing vision and strategy to position Grand Style as the #1 premium home textile brand in Egypt and a strong contender in MENA.
- Align sourcing initiatives with the company’s overall merchandise strategy, seasonal plans, and corporate growth objectives.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build, maintain, and continuously develop a robust vendor/supplier matrix (local Egyptian mills, international fabric/yarn suppliers, finishing units, and finished goods manufacturers).
- Negotiate best-in-class commercial terms, pricing, lead times, MOQs, payment terms, and quality commitments with key vendors.
- Manage large-scale strategic vendors and align their growth/capacity development with Grand Style’s expansion roadmap.
- Leverage Grand Style’s fabric library to drive core fabric standardization across collections while incorporating seasonal trend fabrics from key mills.
Sourcing & Procurement Execution
- Oversee end-to-end sourcing for both raw materials (fabrics, yarns, dyes, accessories) and finished home textile products.
- Build and communicate seasonal and long-term product sourcing plans in close collaboration with Design, Merchandising, and Sales teams.
- Conduct regular mill/supplier visits, trade shows, and market scouting to identify new sources, trends, and innovations.
- Ensure strict adherence to critical path timelines for sampling, approval, production, and delivery to minimize exceptions and delays.
Cost, Quality & Risk Management
- Aggressively pursue cost reduction through bulk buying, vendor mix optimization, fabric rationalization, and process improvements while protecting brand quality standards.
- Monitor and manage sourcing market risks (currency fluctuation, raw material price volatility, geopolitical issues) and penetrate new competitive sources/markets.
- Conduct regular competitor store visits and benchmarking to ensure product range, quality, and pricing remain superior.
Qualifications & Experience
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, risk assessment, and analytical skills
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel/Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in purchasing/sourcing, with at least 4–5 years in a managerial role leading a team of 2–5 people.
Must-have: Strong experience in local Egyptian and regional sourcing of home textile raw materials (cotton fabrics, yarns, dyes) and finished products.
Proven track record in premium/luxury retail or home textile/apparel brands.
Hands-on expertise in Odoo ERP (Purchasing, Inventory, Manufacturing modules) – mandatory.
Deep knowledge of fabric types, construction, finishing processes, and quality standards in home textiles.
