job Summary:
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required for the company’s operations. This includes identifying and sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery. The specialist will be crucial in optimizing procurement processes and minimizing costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
1. Working Conditions:
- This is a traveling-based job that requires traveling to supplier sites in any country needed around the world.
- This job required staying several months outside of Egypt as business required.
2. Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Vendor Management:
- Research and identify potential suppliers for various goods and services.
- Conduct thorough vendor evaluations and assessments, including price comparisons, quality checks, and delivery performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.
- Procurement Processes:
- Manage the entire procurement cycle, from requisition to receipt and payment.
- Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Track and monitor orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Resolve any discrepancies related to orders, invoices, or deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
- Cost Control and Savings:
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the procurement process.
- Negotiate price reductions and discounts with suppliers.
- Explore opportunities to optimize inventory levels and reduce holding costs.
- Track and report on procurement costs and savings.
- Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with inventory control to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Assist in forecasting demand and planning for future procurement needs.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field and Experience in fashion or related field.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
