Job Purpose

Mechanical Procurement Engineer will be responsible to select, evaluate and manage suppliers and subcontractors for active projects & tenders’ activities. The key responsibility includes handling efficiently all the procurement activities related to HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, ELV System, Spare parts, Consumables etc.

Responsibilities

• Receive the Technical team requests for quotations (RFQs) along with favourable payment terms and delivery time, shipping method, etc.
• Validate and confirm with the technical office, and technical staff, the quantity and specifications required per RFQ.
• Issue POs / Contracts as per agreed upon terms and conditions with the exact milestones / payment terms.
• Prepare project procurement plan in coordination with the project managers.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers to reach best price, delivery time and Quality and prepare a detailed Quotation Comparison Report.
• Evaluate each supplier’s performance and submit a vendor evaluation report to the Technical Procurement Manager.
• Perform market scanning for new suppliers & subcontractors to enhance total cost of ownership in each suppliers’ category.
• Ensure that excess materials from sites shall be returned back to central stores on monthly basis.
• Develop and maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure timely delivery of equipment, material & systems to support site installation works as per approved work program.
• Work on finding solutions and alternatives to procure unavailable items, suggest other purchase resources and submit them to relevant departments to get the technical approval.
• Attend and check on delivery of procured materials in accordance with supplier agreement.
• Manage vendors and suppliers through qualification and approval of new suppliers, with the aim to establish an adequate inventory of reliable suppliers to support full production lines and in times of upward demand.

• Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in MEP Procurement with good knowledge of national and international markets.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic
• Effective technical skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Well versed with Mechanical, civil and construction
• Commercial awareness
