Job Title: Planning Specialist

Department: Operation

Reporting Line: Planning Section Head

Job Location: 6th of October

Key Accountabilities

Planning & Scheduling Support

  • Develop and maintain operational schedules for train and truck movements to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the Planning Section Head in aligning plans with overall operational targets.
  • Monitor daily operations and make real-time adjustments to meet changing needs.

Resource Allocation

  • Assist in allocating manpower, equipment, and transport resources efficiently.
  • Track and report on resource utilization to support optimization and cost control.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Update governmental authorities with total movement data (inbound and outbound).
  • Prepare reports for shipping lines regarding capacity utilization and container status, including damage reports.
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop periodic performance and utilization reports.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Liaise with logistics, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, including transport providers and authorities, to ensure compliance and timely execution.

KPI Monitoring & Performance Tracking

  • Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for train and truck operations.
  • Assist in analyzing performance trends and recommending improvements.
  • Monitor metrics such as delivery time, truck turnaround, and waiting times.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

  • Identify planning bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
  • Support the development of contingency and recovery plans for operational disruptions.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure planning activities comply with company, legal, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to integrate safety practices into planning processes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in enhancing planning processes and tools for better accuracy and performance.
  • Support implementation of strategic and cost-saving initiatives.

Team Support & Development

  • Provide assistance to the planning team as needed to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in professional development and training to strengthen planning capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in planning, logistics, or operations (transportation or industrial background preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong command of English.
