The Operations Manager will lead and support our shops staff in the day-to-day operations to enhance customer experience, boost sales and grow the business. Extensive knowledge of the coffeeshop business and the capacity to execute and cascade projects and processes across multiple locations are a must. This role also requires a warm and friendly demeanor to connect with the staff, the patience and perseverance to coach others, thereby fostering a thriving culture with a true sense of belonging and ownership. Candidates should have a hands-on mindset and a natural affinity for the service industry.
Requirements:
- 3+ Yrs. of experience heading operations at a coffeeshop chain (min 2 shops).
- 3+ Yrs. of experience as a people leader and in team building
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of POS systems, front and back ends.
- Ability to analyze sales and P&L statements to track key data points.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of our shops.
- Lead by example, recognize hard work and celebrate success to ensure the team culture is strong and employees feel valued.
- Ensure processes, standards, and quality are maintained across all functions in collaboration with the shop managers.
- Review, adjust, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) periodically at each shop, in partnership with the shop managers.
- Coach shop managers and staff, via one-on-one and weekly team meetings.
- Conduct bi-annual performance reviews and promotion assessments for shop managers and support them in doing the same for their staff
- Set & guide the shop managers in fulfilling sales & cost control targets.
- Ensure effective counting and reporting of inventory to eliminate stock outs.
- Support the kitchen manager and establish effective communication between the shops and kitchen to guarantee food freshness, proper labeling, and stocking.
- Oversee adherence to food safety initiatives and ensure all shops maintain A grades.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels and allocate staff to guarantee the quality & speed of service.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
- Oversee the procurement staff to maximize efficiencies & secure best prices.
- Communicate marketing initiatives & promotions to shops and oversee its execution.
- Seek customer feedback to help shops run better and improve staff performance.
- Emphasize and monitor shop appearance (FOH/BOH) round the clock.
- Confer on the design of new locations, particularly floor plans, and the equipment deployed to effectively execute our product offering.
- Liaise with all location landlords to foster healthy relationships.
