Operation Manager At Harsco Environmental

Job Purpose:

  • Directs and supervises operation and subcontractor workforce in operation all activities for equipment used in production or for rental on plant site locations. Ensures that daily production quantities are met. direct supervision of multiple employees in a large, multi-faceted environment, which includes all operation activities. Includes decision-making in evaluating performance. Ensures that daily production volumes are met. Exercises independent discretion and judgment in executing business strategies by providing leadership & direction to the team. Trains, coaches, and develops associates on efficient work methods to increase departmental productivity. Monitors all department results and determines changes needed in procedures or conditions that could affect operating costs.

Responsible For

  • The site manager delegates the Operation manager with his complete authority and responsibility for the operation department.
  • Audits and trains operation crews using “Best Practices” to accomplish operations targets.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety in operation activities and workplaces.
  • Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Implements and coordinates safety objectives
  • Assist in reviewing and updating assigned departmental Safe Job Instructions.
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
  • Understand and manage all procedures and practices to ensure all tasks are performed safely.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operational and maintained.
  • Employee Administration including administrative issues, hiring employees, discipline issues, scheduling employee vacation and overtime.
  • Input and analyze reporting data, initiate action plans, and conduct follow-up audits to ensure actions are carried out for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Continual review of processes and procedures for proactive modifications and improvements.
  • Maintains all daily operations of the plant site.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

Experience

  • 6 years minimum at least experience in the same discipline
  • Competent knowledge.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to develop and manage effective internal and external relationships;
  • Ability to share knowledge and circulate good practice within ROW.
  • Must be a team player and be able to actively participate in team operations and programs.

Technical Skills

  • Competent presentation skills including use of Company preferred IT programs including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word;
