MRP Engineer At Lafarge Egypt “Suez”

Overview

  • Responsible for inventory management for assigned parts and processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished. Work on problems with diverse scope where analysis of situations or data require a review of identifiable factors.
  • Material Resource Planner (MRP) Controller is the one who handles the relationship between the customer, Procurement, inventory and others and makes sure that the relationship is balanced between them.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, purchasing and quality to attain production goals.

Responsibilities:

1-Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company’s HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  • Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  • Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual’s activities).

2-Functional:

  • Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned parts using ERP (SAP) systems.
  • Act as a focal point and monitor assigned areas to ensure material delivery dates meet Maintenance needs.
  • Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages.
  • Interface with stakeholders within LCE to identify and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials.
  • Analyze data and collaborate with internal customers to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies.
  • Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generate ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or “head off” potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
  • Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities.
  • Conduct market research to make sure that all materials are of high quality standard.
  • Forecast the trends in product consumption to provide the needed number of stocks and its turnover.
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager during customer contract development to ensure new supply agreements are implemented and executed effectively, efficiently and in accordance with LCE policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration skills by open communication and sharing of pertinent business information to all departments and build supplier management and relationships.
  • Represent the company successfully and exercises flexibility in their communications with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Power Engineering.

Technical Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of Local Safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of quality management methods (ISO 9002).
  • Knowledge of cement process.
  • Knowledge of materials management theories processes and practices.
  • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that include a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Exhibit & encourage a sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize projects and primary responsibilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly energetic and success driven.

Experience:

  • 3 Years’ experience dealing with material preparation and master data file.
