Job Purpose:

A Logistics Specialist oversees the transportation of goods from the manufacturer or supplier to the final destination, coordinating with carriers, planning and optimizing routes, analyzing data, and managing disputes and problems as they arise. They study market price rates and maintain contact with local/external truck suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. This role is crucial in managing the transportation of goods via trucks, ensuring efficient, reliable, and cost-effective logistics operations. They work closely with all members of the operations team to achieve these objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carrier Management:Identify, select, and manage relationships with trucking carriers, negotiating rates, and service agreements to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
• Dispatching and Routing: Coordinate the dispatching and routing of trucks to optimize delivery schedules, and maximize truck utilization.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of transportation documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and driver logistics.
• Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within trucking operations.
• Ensure excellent communication with all internal and external parties.
• Ensure operations are done efficiently in accordance to business plan and objectives for operations team.
• Ensure effective control of trucking operational cost.
• Accomplish any other tasks that may be assigned to him by management.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field preferred.
• 7 + years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize routes and solve logistical challenges
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and truck drivers.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and compliance.
