Job Description

  • Receive, inspect, and store all incoming engineering materials, including but not limited to:
  • Spare parts for machinery and equipment
  • Electrical components
  • Mechanical components
  • Consumables (e.g., lubricants, cutting fluids)
  • Tools and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory items, including stock levels, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
  • Implement and maintain a robust stock control system (e.g., using a computerized inventory management system, barcode scanning).
  • Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Identify and address any inventory issues, such as stock shortages, overstocking, or damaged goods.
  • Process requisitions for engineering materials from internal departments.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Issue materials to authorized personnel and obtain appropriate signatures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized storage environment.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of all materials to prevent damage and deterioration.
  • Implement and maintain a system for the disposal of obsolete or surplus stock
  • Assist in the procurement process by providing information on stock levels, pricing, and availability.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve any order discrepancies or delivery issues.
