Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Procurement located in Cairo.

As Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing procurement operations of UPA , developing and implementing procurement strategies, and leading negotiations with suppliers for optimal pricing and contract terms.

In addition, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that procurement needs align with business goals, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Job Description:

1- Manage the procurement team by setting objectives, motivating, monitoring team performance to ensure growth and development for team members and department performance.

2- Analyzing procurement process, identify gaps and bottlenecks, develop SOPs to ensure compliance related to key requirements such as , purchasing (foreign and local),supplier qualifications, logistics, distribution, inventory management.

3- Control and create procurement plans and reports to ensure highest procurement efficiency level .

4- Ensure compliance of all procurement activities according to set laws and regulations.

5- Monitor the communication and negotiation with the existing and new vendors to sustain a steady efficient & supply .

6- Liase with Supply department to monitor inventory levels and logistics critical paths and prepare a risk management plan to deal with uncertainties.

7- Cost optimization through efficient vendor management and contract management.

8- Lead the corrective and preventive actions in procurement activities to help the organization achieve its’ goals and objectives.

9- Effective reporting to top management .

10- Collaborate with other departments to to develop and identify cost saving business opportunities.

11- Monitor the documentation process across the procurement functions according to the UPA quality assurance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine , Pharmacy , Biomedical Engineering or similar life science education.
  • Post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field within a multinational organization with proven record of success in procurement, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in vendor selection, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Hands-On knowledge & Experience working with ERP tools .
  • Experience managing a large teams within matrix organograms.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
