What You Will Be Doing
The Country Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the warehouse and the daily operational activities related to importing, storage and shipping of products. The Country logistics manager will plan, manage and coordinate the activities of employees assigned to the logistics section either directly or through subordinate managers and supervisors to ensure goals and objectives are met. Develop and implement successful project plans that lead to realize the strategic initiatives at the operational level. Also responsible for communication, implementation and compliance to Group logistics’ policies and programs. - Manage the complete Logistics operations which include Warehousing, Freight imports and exports, documentation, Transportation & distribution activities.
- Ensure the logistics business is run as per standard & documented operating procedures taking into consideration Chalhoub Group policies, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements and Local legal requirements.
- Introduce and implement process improvement plans, equipment enhancement, facilities and service improvement plans in coordination with Group Logistics’ and ensuring alignment to business objectives.
- Ensure client contracts are well managed and KPI targets are achieved as per the contractual agreements.
- Coordinating and controlling the order cycles, lead-times and customer requirements through efficient utilization of Man, infrastructure & information systems.
- Ensure the company’s assets are well maintained and efficiently utilized
- Ensuring Logistics staff is well-trained and supervised for their job in the logistics area
- Analyzing data to monitor and plan improvements in delivery performance
- Analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
- Proper Allocation and management of staff resources according to changing needs
- Ensure employee satisfaction, employee career development, employee morale improvement and succession planning
- Coordinating with all required service providers including freight carriers in negotiating prices & conditions for the benefit of the company
- Establish operational budgets and ensure cost targets are met.
- Control the order cycle and associated storage and movement of goods between various sites
- Set/Manage annual operational objectives and ensure performance indicators are maintained to measure the performance
- Interview, select, provide training for, motivate and assess the performance of the team members
- Ensure warehouse staff is well trained and supervised for their job in the logistics area
- Ensure the best level of customer service delivered
- Recommend action plans for improvement, coordinate implementation and monitor follow up
- Annual staff leave planning and liaison with the HR department for people management
- Ensure that department keeps a high standard of health and safety and environmental performance as per OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
- Report all incidents, of any nature and however caused, to their immediate superior completing all necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment provided for ensuring health, safety or welfare.
- Maintain good and efficient communication with clients
- Manage third party service providers regularly reviewing all working practices and tendering where necessary
- Ensure KPI targets and measures are met as defined by the client contracts and service level agreements and productivity indices.
- Coordinate the operational processes between the various logistical departments to ensure best level of customer satisfaction

What You’ll Need To Succeed University degree in logistics or equivalent
Minimum 10 years in a fast paced distribution facility
