Country Indirect Procurement Lead At Philip Morris

Your purpose –

As a key member of our Procurement team, you will optimize local procurement of products and services by collaborating closely with the local management team to understand their current and anticipated demands or needs, deploying local sourcing strategies, optimizing the local supplier base and managing local and cluster suppliers.

Your ‘day to day’ –

  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with senior internal partners to understand their needs, influence strategic decisions and deliver impactful sourcing solutions.
  • Conduct market and supplier research to advise on strategy and drive innovation.
  • Contribute to local, regional, and global sourcing plans, to find opportunities for alignment and scale.
  • Lead negotiations with major suppliers, ensuring quality, compliance, and long-term value.
  • Handle new & ongoing key commercial relationships with major local suppliers, vendors or subcontractors to ensure that service standards, KPI targets and sustainability metrics are met.
  • Review and approve RFx’s and contracts conducted by the team and / or the SSC.
  • Promote contractual standard methodologies in collaboration with Legal colleagues.
  • Champion procurement compliance and optimize the use of PMI’s global tools and systems.
  • Collaborate across teams and geographies to deliver procurement excellence.

Who We’re Looking For –

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Category Management and Procurement Sourcing, ideally within Marketing & Sales category scope.
  • Experience working within an international, multi-national environment, and knowledge of how to navigate sophisticated matrix organisation structures.
  • Proven expertise in Supplier Relationship Management and commercial proficiency.
  • Proficient English and Arabic communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to evaluate suppliers and market trends.
  • A collaborative spirit and dedication to continuous improvement.
