Key Responsibilities:
Airspace Planning and Assessment:
- Conduct feasibility studies, regulatory compliance review, and initial airspace assessment.
- Determine the initial airspace risks
Airspace Design and Optimization:
- Develop, design, and evaluate airspace structures, procedures, and routes to support efficient air traffic flow.
- Review and modify flight paths, approach/departure procedures, and restricted airspace to improve airspace utilization and safety.
- Analyze and recommend adjustments to airspace to accommodate changing demand and optimize traffic flow.
- Ensure that airspace designs and operational procedures comply with national and international aviation regulations (e.g., ICAO standards, FAA regulations).
Procedure Design
- Collaborate with air traffic controllers, air traffic management teams, and regulatory authorities to develop procedure design such as:
- Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs) Design
- Standard Approach Procedures (IAPs) Design
- Missed Approach Procedures Design
- Holding Procedures Design
- Visual Flight Rules (VFR) procedures design
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aerospace engineering, air traffic management, or related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in airspace planning, air traffic control, or a related field (10+ years).
- Experience working with air traffic management systems and airspace design tools.
- Knowledge of airspace structure and navigation procedures.
- Experience in Utilizing advanced air traffic management systems, geographic information systems (GIS), and modeling tools to analyze airspace usage and design improvements.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, particularly in airspace design and air traffic management.
- Experience in GIS tools, modeling software, and air traffic control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
