Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- Source and procure materials, products, and services required for architectural and civil engineering projects.
- Coordinating with the project team to understand specifications and ensure procurement meets design and quality requirements.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), tenders, and purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiating terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement solutions.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors in the construction industry.
- Evaluate supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, and pricing issues.
- Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers and keep abreast of new products and technologies in the industry.
Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Help prepare procurement budgets and make sure they adhere to cost limits.
- Monitor procurement costs and ensure efficient utilization of resources without compromising quality.
- Review and analyze quotes, cost proposals, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with budget requirements.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure materials and services are delivered on time and as per specifications.
- Monitor the project schedule and manage procurement timelines to prevent delays in project execution.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates on procurement status and resolve any issues related to material availability or vendor performance.
Contract Management:
- Draft and review contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers as per agreed terms and conditions.
- Resolve disputes or discrepancies related to procurement contracts.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier details, delivery schedules, and payment status.
- Provide regular reports on procurement activities, material costs, and vendor performance to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to procurement processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (3-5 years)
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in procurement within the construction or engineering industry.
- Knowledge of construction materials, products, and services used in architectural and civil projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of construction laws, contracts, and regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
