Country General Manager At USUL
USUL, a petrochemical trading & distribution company headquartered in Amman, Jordan, is expanding into Egypt — one of the region’s largest plastics converting markets (PP, PE, PVC, PET, masterbatch).
We’re looking for a senior leader to establish and grow our Egypt operation:
Position: Country General Manager – Egypt
Start: As soon as possible
Location: Cairo (covering 10th of Ramadan, 6th of October, Alexandria, and Delta industrial zones)
Profile required:
- 15+ years in polymers, chemicals, or plastic raw materials (PP, PE, PVC, PET, masterbatch, additives), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership / P&L role within a trading or distribution environment
- Proven track record building or scaling a country operation: market entry, team leadership, distribution strategy, and full commercial ownership
- Established network among Egyptian plastic converters and industrial manufacturers — key account leadership, credit terms structuring, and volume-based sales
- Solid understanding of Egyptian import regulations, FX/letters of credit, customs clearing, and local payment dynamics
- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred; MBA a plus
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style — this person will set up the company, hire and lead the local team, own the P&L, and report directly to ownership
- Experience in mining or oil & gas supply is a valuable plus, as these are future business lines for us
