Job Purpose

The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading and managing the company’s procurement operations, strategies, and supplier relationships to ensure the acquisition of high-quality goods and services at the most competitive prices. This role ensures procurement activities align with organizational objectives, cost-efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and financial targets.
  • Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency across all procurement categories.
  • Establish procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier consolidation efforts.
  • Procurement Operations Management
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process (RFP, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance).
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor procurement performance metrics and generate management reports.
  • Implement e-procurement tools or ERP systems to streamline operations.
  • Supplier & Contract Management
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and long-term supplier agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost standards are met.
  • Manage supplier risk and ensure business continuity plans are in place.
  • Budget & Cost Control
  • Manage the annual procurement budget and track expenditure against forecasts.
  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
  • Support finance teams with accurate procurement forecasting and reporting.
  • Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance capability and performance.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Projects, and Legal).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry Experience: Must have experience in the IT Sector and Saudi Market
